amazing time xxx
rushing all day to finish work,good thing everyone was going out to dinner tonight ...
asked ladyboss if its ok to go a bit earlier because i wanted to go to the pineapple dance studios for
class tonight...
she thought it was brilliant and said ok ...
got there just on time,
looks smaller than it does on telly actually haha
but it was an electric feeling walking in,there was so much energy going around xxx
reception welcomed me and was directed to which studio i should go and where to change,,,
so got on and got changed,,a lot of different girls in the lockers we are all rushing to ge ready and you'd think its in the middle of the day,it didnt feel like 8 in the evening at all!!!
waiting for the studio to be free from previous class,there were about 25 of us, everyone friendly
and some anxious and some looking nervous ...
finally ,we were welcomed by the teacher,,,omg he looks asian not a latino!!!
anyway,he was very kind and started the warm up,
afterwards,he briefed everyone and said what the expectations should be if its a first time and he said that during warm up teachers can see who should go where,beginners 1 or advance 2...
so he asked everyone to please go to which class they feel comfortable with,so i thought yeah i'd go to advance 2...
and then when we grouped for our class he asked each student if its our first time or not,so one by one answered and then when it was my turn,he said to me before i can answer...
teacher: and you,you are a salsera already,a cuban dancer,whats your name???
so i introduced myself,even if no one else was asked their name!!!!
teacher:really?is that ...like super....???waht an unusual name!!! i love it!!
me:thank you,sorry this is not my first class...
teacher:i know!!!! and you dont belong here....
everyone laughed!!!! (how embarassing) i covered my face with my hands...
me:really sorry but i had to know how it works so i went today...
teacher: so,how long hav you been dancing?
me:4-5 years
so,now everyone was quiet staring at me..oh god,i could die on the spot!!!
teacher:(looking at me with wide eyes)smiling. ok,i would like a word with you please after class.see me after ok?
me:ok,am i in trouble?
teacher:no,but i would like to have a word later with you..
me:ok thanks..
so with that,routine was done bit by bit and changing of partners,there were people there who really try very hard,some needs a bit of work and some just plain doesnt work at all!!!haaha
but i kept myself to my self except when teacher 'borrows' me to show class the routines that are in advance3.lol
half time,teacher asked me again,
teacher:where did you learn?
me:i was trained by G.R and M.S.
teacher:really???
me:yes
teacher:we must speak later!!!
i enjoyed the class and remembered the first time i did it several years ago...
seems like yesterday...
there was a guy there,he looked a bit nervous,he remnds me of a good friend of mine,i taught how to salsa,and now he is doing shows for charity!!!
all the men when we change partners they ask me if they were doing the right thing,i just tell them,you are doing great,dont worry,do it slowly until you remember how to do it,no need to feel awful or sorry :))) so,i helped them be comfortable,this dance is all about being confident with your partner,no awkwardness is allowed otherwise you wont be able to do the routines at all.
the class went smoothly and we stayed longer but i really enjoyed my time :)))
i went to say thank you to the teachers,girl teacher for beginners ignored me (as expected)
my teacher said to me i was more than welcome,,,
so we chatted a bit...
teacher:listen,this is obviosly too easy for you and you dont belong here,so i thought i would want to give you that class on friday,you dont need to pay ut i want you there whenever you can and this friday come to the class...
me:oh thats very kind,but i am not sure if i can come earlier than 8 as i work,,,
teacher:class is from 7 till 9 but come whenever time between these two is fine,just show the card i gave you to reception and hopefully see you then?
so,off i went :))) smiling to myself xxx
really glad i came tonight and i thought it went well but advance 3 is a whole different ballgame,so i hope i ll have the time and the opportunity to do it when i can xxx
another monday gone,looking forward for tomorrow must see ms w before they go back to spain ...
mr f so glad i went to pineapple studio he knows salsa means a lot to me...
sugardaddy was very proud i did and looking forward to being with him soon xxxxx
i finished the day,happy and content that i have done something i really love to do...
and know that whatever chaos is happenning around me that there is still something that is worth looking forward to,i am lucky inspite of it all,mr f being too unwell,said to me,he was glad i was doing something that is important to me and was happy that i achieved a lot in different ways :)))
sugardaddy was so proud of me for doing this tonight and i am so happy that he is xxxx
